PurpleStride is the signature event of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. Each year, in communities across the country, tens of thousands of people participate in more than fifty-six PurpleStride events, including PurpleStride Raleigh-Durham. These events are critical in raising awareness and funds that advance research and support patients and loved ones with a promise of a better tomorrow. This year the Raleigh-Durham Purple Stride raised $216,461 to support the fight against pancreatic cancer!
Dr. Kirsten Bryant of the Der Lab was the top individual fundraiser this year with $6,795 in memory of her father, read her amazing story here. Team UNC raised the second most of any team at the event, with $11,630 across 51 team members. Dr. Der and Dr. Bryant were honorary co-chairs of the event this year, as a testament to their amazing work in the fight against pancreatic cancer. Everyone had a great time running to support this amazing cause as you can see from the photos below.
