Channing Der presents lecture at Pancreatic Cancer Action Network

Channing Der, PhD, Sarah Graham Kenan Professor of Pharmacology and UNC Lineberger member, recently presented an educational lecture for pancreatic cancer survivors, family members and caregivers at a Pancreatic Cancer Action Network and Raleigh-Durham Purple Strides-sponsored Educational Lecture.
Dr. Der’s presentation, Recent Research in Pancreatic Cancer, highlighted recent research findings that have stimulated new experimental directions for improve therapies for this deadly cancer, the fourth leading cause of cancer deaths in the US. In particular, he discussed the recent intensified efforts to develop anti-KRAS targeted therapies, considered by many to be the holy grail of pancreatic cancer treatment. The KRAS gene is mutated in virtually every pancreatic cancer patient.
The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network understands the many challenges that patients and their families face in the fight against pancreatic cancer.
